  1. * Preparing date: September 19th 2023 *Teaching date: September 26th, 2023 ENGLISH 12 Unit 2: URBANISATION Distributive period 10: Getting Started A presentation on urbanization A. Objectives: 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Use some lexical items related to urbanisation and its features, word formation: compound adjectives - Make simple dialogues using the given expressions. - Master some vocabularies about lexical items related to urbanisation and its features, word formation: compound adjectives - Get revision of the subjunctive in “that” clauses after certain verbs and expressions 1.1. Vocabulary: - To introduce the overall topic of Unit 2 “Urbanisation” - Use some lexical items related to urbanisation and its features - To help learner get started with some language items in Unit 2 1.2. Grammar: - Revision of the subjunctive in “that” clauses after certain verbs and expressions - To check Ss’ comprehension thorough questions - To provide Ss with a chance to express their opinion about their choice 2. Competences: Group work, independent working, pair work, linguistic competence, cooperation learning and communicative competence. 3. Quality: -Responsibility, patriotism B. Preparations 1. Teacher: Handouts, textbook, lesson plan, pieces of papers and cassette. 2. Students: Textbook, notebook, pen C. Methods The whole lesson: Integrated, mainly communicative approach * Skills: To help learners get started with 4 skills in Unit 2. - Reading: Reading for specific information about urbanization and its causes. - Speaking: Discussing key features of urbanisation and expressing opinions. - Listening: Listening for the advantages and disadvantages of urbanization. - Writing: Describing a line graph about the rate of urbanisation.
