  1. Date of planning : October 19th , 2017 Date of teaching : October 27th , 2017 ENGLISH 12 Unit 4: SCHOOL EDUCATION SYSTEM Period 28: LANGUAGE FOCUS (1) I. Objectives 1. Educational aim: - By the end of the lesson, they can determine the stress in three-sylable words and they can do Exercise 1 correctly and remember the way to change a sentence into passive voice 2. Knowledge: ( Language , Structures , New words ). - To help students know how to determine the stress in three-syllable words and revise grammar Passive voice. Language : Study passive voice Words : Select , divide, seperate 3. Skills : Writing (main), speaking II. Methods : Mainly communicative approach and Integrated other suitable methods III. Teaching aids: • Teacher : A lesson plan , posters / slices , papers . • Students : Write forms of passive voice at home. Reading words and sentences ( page 49 ) IV. Procedures TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES *Stabilization:( 1minute) _ T gives some questions -Listen and answer 1. Good morning class 1. Good morning teacher 2. Who is absent today? 3.The monitors of class 12A3 report:He or She I.Warm-up : (2 minutes) - T asks sts somes qs - Sts listen and answer 1.Who teaches history in your class ? Mrs Lieu teaches history in my class 2. Who teaches chemistry in your class ? Mrs Son teaches chemistry in my class 3. Which words have three syllables? They are : history,chemistry History is taught in your class by Mrs Lieu Chemistry is taught in your class by Mr Son - Lead in the new lesson: Today we will determine the stress in three-syllable words and revise grammar : Passive voice. II. Pronunciation: (20 minutes) * Listen and repeat - Listen - Read some words and ask Ss to repeat. - Get some Ss to pronounce these words - Read after the teacher - Correct pronunciation (if any) The rules stress in three – syllable words ( Quy tắc trọng âm trong các từ có 3 âm tiết ) 1. Những tiền tố và hậu tố không làm thay đổi trọng âm của từ ban đầu.

Tiền tố - in (incorrect - un (unhappy) - im ( impossible) - under (undergo) Hậu tố -able (memorable) -ly (friendly) -al (musical) -ness (happiness) -ful (careful) -ise/ize (civilize) -ish (tallish) -ment (development) -less (useless) -hood (neighborhood) -ing (opening) -er (listener) 2. Trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ 2 từ cuối lên: -Với những tính từ có hậu tố là : - ic ( electric , scientific) -Với những danh từ có hậu tố là : -ion, -ian ( calculation, Italian, education) 3.Trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ 3 từ cuối lên - Với những tính từ có hậu tố là : - al , ics . ( natural , industrial) - Với những từ có hậu tố là : -y ( chemistry, primary, beautify) - Ask Ss to put these words ( page 49) in the correct - Try to put them into correct order column. Cách biến đổi từ câu chủ động sang bị động Active: S V O - Listen and write Passive: S + Be + PP (V-ed /cột 3) + by + O - Xác định chủ ngữ ( subject) và tân ngữ (object) trong câu chủ động . - Chuyển tân ngữ lên làm chủ ngữ và chủ ngữ xuống làm tân ngữ. - Động từ đưa về dạng Verb Vpp - ‘Be’ chia phụ thuộc vào câu chủ động và chủ ngữ của câu bị động - T gives example - Change it into passive voice Eg1 : They use computers in many fields.
